most vans are not wide enough for a 6ft.6in bed across the van you need to look to luton types of van for that idea most use the luton area for the high bed
Bought a double foam mattress and had to cut 4" off to make it fit. I'm 6'3 so it's technically too small but I sleep on my side so just have knees bent slightly, it's not at all uncomfortable. Suppose it depends how you sleep that would determine if it works. You could stretch out on your back on the diagonal. How wide is the master? Is your bed long enough for a 6ft bean pole to stretch out in?
I've got a LWB Vivaro that I converted with a rock and roll bed / sofa, but when the time comes to upgrade a fixed bed across the van would be a better option if its wide enough.
The Ducato / Relay / Boxer vans are just about wide enough if you use the space between the internal frames.most vans are not wide enough for a 6ft.6in bed across the van
That's intentional. Decided early on that we didn't want the grill as we mostly cook pasta and porridge for hiking. Removing the grill unit from the hob was more hassle than it was worth so just left it in place. Eventually will put some trim across the front to block it from viewLooks good, not much clearance for the grill on that hob
I had thought that's what the idea was, I was just surprised the Eagle eyed on here had missed itThat's intentional. Thanks, So far it has been very reliable even cold winter starting it fires right up. Can get an awning from a local guy who imports that sort of stuff but at around £500 its not high on the priority list as this is mostly going to be used in laybys and fields rather than designated campsites. Only ever in one spot for a night so would be too much hassle to put up and take down all the time. You’re making a nice job of this conversion. We had one for a few years whilst we had the house in France.
We bought it because there was a Renault dealership in the next town and sure enough that paid off as on one trip the high pressure diesel fuel line failed - spotted it dripping as we came out of the local Supermarche. Local dealer had the spare on the shelf and fitted it within 45 mins!
The only other issue we had was with the injectors leaking, other that that it was super dependable. Sometimes it was a bit lazy to fire up if it had been stood for a few weeks between use.
Have you looked into an awning to go above the side door?
Will probably just leave them grey. They cleaned up pretty well, the headlining however was stained and generally minging so that got some lining carpet over it.Looking good. You could probably get those hard plastics around the sun visors flocked or trimmed in black to match…
