Will you pot the repair in some way (conformal goop?) when you're done for extra strength or is the new epoxy backing strong enough to be treat as original?

The new epoxy backing is strong enough, but I will conformal coating this repaired area of the board for dust/moisture resistance. We use a flexible silicone coating which doesn't offer much mechanical resistance but does offer excellent moisture resistance

Sadly I am in no means a welder which can tell a good AC arc from a bad one, the only reason I bought this is that I found myself without a single phase welder (having a Rowac/Lorch3 phase MIG, and a Everlast/Rtech/One Welding 325EXT AC/DC tigger) but i've read that the Magicwave has a very nice arc on AC.

I actually quite enjoy the 9-5, keeps me busy, get to travel the world and see new places. Can be stressful at times but I guess that's why it's called work rather than play.

I remember some PC motherboards about 25 years a go where the write back chips were just moulded plastic with legs in them and didn't do anything.

That’s a nice repair. It’s alway very satisfying grinding out the old board and laying down new epoxy. There’s some nice YouTube videos on this by PACE. However it takes practice. Very nicely done. I used to do similar repairs on military gear but few boards these days justify the time and expense.

Recieved the board back today.
The board itself works (as I have power all around the machine now) however it shows U-P on the amperage display.
This would mean a primary over/undervoltage condition.
Any clues of how/where to measure.
I have 230v at the plug.
Could it be the large condensator needs charging time?
