Now printing 6 more. It'll take an hour. As there's more mass with 6 it can go full speed or something. Minimum layer time my lad was on about. I don't profess to understand I can just draw things...

Still reckon the piddly little bits will break off.

Yes, materials differ though. Nylon can absorb 10% of its weight in water over just 24 hours. That boils as it goes through the nozzle, blowing holes in it during the extrusion. Other materials are not so bad, but you should always bag up and protect unused filament, or expect to dry it before quality items are to be printed. I do have a dryer / dispenser here, but for a test I didn't bother switching it on.

Still haven't printed ABS yet...wanting to sort better fume extraction.

I did need to use a small brim though as a couple I tried without lifted off the bed.

Nor me. I think that although there might be some slight whiff, it is more to do with the latest generation needing to be wrapped in cotton wool.

6 done. The slightest internal stringing on two. The black PETG roll has been sitting in the Bambu AMS atop the printer for months. The AMS is filled mind with desiccant in 3D printed modular holders.

Some slight layer imperfection at the tapered end on these last 6 but as solid, should be fine.

I dont think it will matter once that ball has tightened down in the socket.

I have to say, I am of similar thoughts. I see some of the printed solution to problems I never knew existed - but they seem to take much longer than simply making something out of stock.

Except that you can prototype something and wander away to do more productive things whilst it is printing. The result will either be confirmation that it is good to go, or could then be reproduced mechanically if warranted.

Do those ears actually have a real purpose once fitted though?
