Abandoned steel works hospital room...Firth Browns on Carlisle St, Sheffield.....I had my ears syringed in here in 1971....something completelty new to me...I was a bit concerned at first when the Nurse produced what appeared to be a giant Hyperdermic Needle......once done though I tip toed out as my feet were banging on the floor. Never used it again despite the new Nurse being very pleasant on the eye.

Is that your picture? I tried to find the place a few years ago, spent about an hour cycling up and down Carlisle Street in the rain before giving up and coming home.

Is that a Fedoncher?

I don't know what a Fedoncher is. That looks like a machine which at a place I worked which was used for straightening steel billet for the rolling mill.

This is the Earl of Zetland, built in Aberdeen in 1939 as a passenger ship. She was a real looker when new.
In recent years she has been a floating venue in Royal Quays Marina in Tyneside, but is now being chopped up.
The engine is a British Polar M46M, a two stroke with forced scavenging.

The brown and white flats are where enormous cruise ships tie up, you would have constant noise and smells 24/7 and passengers peering into your bathroom..
