Thanks.
I order online from R-tech for tig wire and tool-net for mig wire for my little Clarke welder.
Crazy innit, twice the mail order price, to get it locally.!
Is the P1800 a Jensen built car?
Moved the wheel out to the workshop yesterday. Just need to give her a light sand and then two more coats today and then she is all ready to be assembled and finished.
The stretcher shrinker works well. I think it's an imported Harbour Freight one from the US, but not had and issues with it and does the job. I got mine from ebay at a good price but these guys sell one that looks pretty decent: http://www.stakesys.co.uk/department/bead_forming_machines/
No it's a 71 P1800E. It's a major project though and won't be to everyone's taste so tradionalists block your ears. Modernising the car's appearance, aluminium external body shell and mated onto an extended MX5 chassis. Not sure of the engine at this stage but I want a reasonably powerful, light compact engine, so something like a T4 with 250 to 300hp which should go well as I hope to keep the car weight under 1000kg. But like I said this is a major project and my Amazon Estate is my usable classic.
Awesome Burdekin! Any chance the auto cad files are available?
Is a Scottish wheel a bit like an English wheel , just a bit tighter?
Have a care, young man....
