Whitby Warrior ?
your just going to have to hunt it down now ,, Probably that Lucan fellow , taking hay to Shergar again. When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
The collective have offered many easily eliminated possibilities, so there must be either a prototype kit car out there or a one-off special.
It was on a Q plate after all.
Is this going to be like that unidentified Ashley-like that was doing the rounds a while back? Tentatively identified as a prototype for an abandoned low volume model, wasn't it?
Probably a mini moke? Horrible IMO

Can’t see the attraction, series Land rovers are basically kit cars anyway
To be fair there was quite a bit more to it than altering the shape of the wheelarches. Air-Portable was closer to the mark than Lightweight
Couldn't have been a Dutton Sierra?
An old TVR acquaintance of mine in Leeds (Roger aka 'tallbloke') has (or did have, I haven't been there in a while) a one-off Ginetta that was styled like a Rangey/ Matra Rancho. The chassis was about 6"x3" box as I recall.

No not a Mini Moke as I part owned one with a school mate way back in the mid 70s and bombed around Granddad's farm on it.
What I saw was bigger than a Toylander and carried a Q registration plate. Like I said in the original post I saw it for at least 20 seconds as it drove down our road and around the bend 100 metres further on
I don't do mobile phones and was on the front door step at the time taking a Royal Mail delivery and was 6 maybe 7 metres from it as it passed by.One of those times when you wish you'd picked up your phone on the way out of the house!
they are skinnier too , and fuel tank under the even more basic seat , some had two tanks , one under each seat bonnets different too of course , in fact all the body work is different No hard tops available either ... lots had hard tops fitted as they came into civi life , but the hard tops are too wide. There's one near me that's been on axle stands for years, I can't see what there is less of compared to a standard one (besides the wings)
