Thanks, I'll work to that shade and also the decal is nice, I will try and replicate something similar. It varied in it's redness over the years, also the colour seems to darken with age. You may find a bit of the original colour hiding in yours when you take it apart.
This one is still in it's original colour if that helps you.

That Woden mechanism is very similar to the mechanism in my Wilson Riley bench vice, Massey also produced vices with the same mechanism.
I think I have around 70 vices in total, but if I'm honest I stopped counting a while back.
I have an old Parkinson and from memory I think it was dated at 1880! Just looks like the newer stuffParkinson was pretty much the designer of what we commonly accept as standard vice design nowadays.
Limited space unfortunately, want a big proper vice but don’t have the space for one so this one can be easily packed away.Looks like it belongs in a science lab or maybe an F1 race tech diagnostics shop... far too futuristic for me!
Looking at your vice it appears to be post 70's. They changed the end of the screw from bulbous to cylindrical around 1970. The bulbous end can be found at the latest in the 1968 B&H catalogue and the cylindrical end at the earliest in the 1971 version (exception being the ''Engineers' Unbreakable Heavy Duty Vices'' i,e No.110 - 114).the very large Record vice was given me for free by a mate. It’s one huge beastie and is quite old ...

Btw, what number is yours? Looks like a No.25.
