Oohh, we got one???
Didn't even line up the screw heads.
The colour is a bit bright for my liking (might just be the camera) but good job with the restoration.
I sold my 52 1/2 a while ago as it was far to big to fit on my bench, I've since built a bigger bench and beefed up the first one, I want it back now.
I'd hoarded it for about 3 or 4 years already.Classic beginner error - don't sell, hoard instead!
How on earth they got bent like that...

Has anyone ever seen a Record No.28 in person? I wouldn't believe it when I first read they made them up to a No.28 until I saw this on Gumtree! It's in very good condition too, ignoring the slightly bent handle.

The 1935 Buck & Hickman catalogue lists the weight at 180 lb (81.6 kg), 8'' jaws, 10'' opening. Here's the scanned vice pages of CwazyWabbit for anyone who cares to look it up: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9iwuyy1vzrwvszs/AAApmsWFvTmKRWUj53V7eiwla?dl=0

Nope, that's still quite a lightweight compared to the big chipping vices or the shipyard vices.Sweet, is that the biggest vice record have made?
It's a little confusing that piece, it's not factory but seems a strange place to need a repair, unless perhaps someone had been using that part of the vice as an anvil.Looks like its had a but added at the back? Possible repair?
