As new, and just restoration, are two different things. One looks like it just stepped out of the factory, (an approach I'm not fond of), and the latter just means making sure it's in good, usable, working condition. Tarting it up a bit is optional with the latter.
have I opened up a can of worms on my first posts ?
Wouldn't making sure something is in good, usable and working condition be considered preservation and making something look as though it's just stepped out of the factory be restoration?
Our perfectly serviceable vice has been consigned to the scrapheap because it had been painted in the past
