We have the one on the left missing the file stand, currently has a 100 year old Fortis Unbreakable on itThe picture is from the 1913 B&H catalogue where it is shown alongside their other two stands.
It's a shame your handle is missing but it is the sort of thing easily misplaced, especially if the stand hadn't been moved in decades, I wouldn't be surprised if people had forgotten what it was for and threw it out.

Purely by chance this thread appeared near the top as i looked through todays post. My record 34 has been with me since i was 18, 47 years later i had some left over paint this afternoon and a new hex shanked knotted wire brush ! I replaced the handle several years ago with a longer version as it had got bent Second coat tomorrow and i need to shim one jaw to get it parallel if that,s the right thing to do ?
Interesting conundrum. Well, if anyone here mentions they are looking for a particular model of Vice, and one of us has knowledge about one, then I would think a private message to the member would be appropriate. Actually, none of us here on the Forum know what each other is looking for, or how many of us here are searching for a Vice ?conundrum: ---- if you see a nice vice or stand known to be of interest to the rest of us but you're not after it yourself ---- do you give us a 'heads up' so it doesn't get missed by an enthusiast --- or is that spoiling it for another one of us who spotted it and is hoping they're the only one?
eg that ----- right now?
Another Vive for me.
No Makers name, that can be read. But there are some casting marks.

It is heavy for it's size.
'fraid I don't know this -- what's your best guess at that number (605839??) and anyone know how to access patent and reg des numbers? - I once had a link to date of reg designs, but seem to have lost it, but others seem to have the knowledge to go much further.
Was the original colour that dull blue that Woden and Record used? But Woden usually had their own quirky numbers cast in so is this a Record (Paramo also blue but a bit brighter?)?
Someone will have the answer.
The crack will be welded.
I have the rods all ready to weld it. Left over from my last vice weld up.Drill a hole at its end first. I'd braze that, not weld.
Hotels will be drilled,
purposely done with an angle grinder?Just seen this on Ebay. The jaw "design" requires a special kind of animal to achieve.
