The top one has a you tube channel, he’s a tool collector I watch it sometimes it’s a bit of a hoot, he loves his colour pens to highlight lettering, well at least it’s just one of records cheapies
this letter highlighting goes back to meine mechanics, he has a lot to answer for!
however I can’t be such a hypocrite I refer to my post #6209 and my embellishment of my 74’s

who did you speak to? i dont know that means anything really., did they have past catalogues for you to go through or did they go through which i would doubt, or did a english born salesperson with limited knowledge of the company say "no its not one that i can remember"
i still think bison is still a very good possibility just need past catalogues to go through.
its a very good looking vice and appears well made, there cant be that many forgotten vice makers left as possibilities

When I try to contact Bison in Poland via the website it wont give me an Email all I get is a sales email in the UK.
I assume they have limited knowledge so cant answer.
Is a lovely vice I am just trying my best to justify keeping it! I think it will go on one of the workbenches and replace the smaller record I have on that one. My everyday vice is a 100 year old Fortis Unbreakable on a Record cast Iron stand, I also have a couple of York Vices as I just like them. Winchboy only has one vice its a Record 74 Autovice. I do wonder about bolting it to the plant trailer?

I think they ran out of paint after plastering it over the jaws and only managed half the spindle hub...... and just a dash for panache on the bar.

Then - same auction.... 4 lots later maybe the same Bench Vice Picasso did a silver contribution... (or it could be white - these artisans of dulux are always a rage against the machine...)

You are (unfortunately) right, I also had to learn: never underestimate the laziness/disinterest/uninspiredness of people in their job!

I am also waiting for answers to different eMail requests from me ...

as far as the guides of the rear movable jaw are concerned?

I wrote something about the Meyer&Weichelt company in Leipzig at some point in time here.

The Vogelmann logo was used until WWII - perhaps a little beyond - before the GDR started using the more sober designations there.

I have not yet been able to determine the transitional period from shortly after WWII until the complete realisation of the planned economy in the GDR - how long the old logo, perhaps a logoless time and the new designation - were used.

Perhaps you should continue your research in this direction.
