That's very interesting, thanks for posting a pic.Pictures of the Herbert vice one of the jaws is missing any interest weights 40 kg big heavy to post pallet would work I thinkView attachment 361553View attachment 361552View attachment 361554View attachment 361555View attachment 361556View attachment 361557View attachment 361558View attachment 361559
That's a cool thing. how old is it ?The latest acquisition. It is a Garant 125L. I always fancied one of these moving rear jaw vices. This came with the swivel base and is in perfect condition. No great age to it unfortunately but a cool thing. I might actually install and use this one!View attachment 361504View attachment 361505View attachment 361506View attachment 361507
Wanted to take a few pics outside earlier in the day, but hadn’t told the wife I’d bought another! Had to wait until she had retired for the night! The workbench is too full of junk (as per usual) so dining room table it was. No idea how old it is? Hopefully somebody here will point me in the right direction. That's a cool thing. how old is it ?
Bonus man points for putting it on the dining table
That appears to be a "Millers Falls" hand vice.
Post or beam drill. Seem to be scarce in the UK, this one is made by the Silver Manufacturing Co Salam. It all seems to be there apart from a follower wheel which controls the feed.Nice. Post drill?
That's lovely. I hope you bought it & you're not just posting pics ?Went to my local house clearance yard sale yesterday and he must have cleared out someone who'd been a blacksmith, or an interest in the craft There was a beautiful leg vice on a vice stand, albeit without legs and this beauty. I know it's not a vice but it's been on my wish list for years and it was a bargain.

Very nice, you sure that's a 77? I thought they had solid wheels rather than one with spokes.I have several Millers Falls hand drills and other tools scattered about, including these which were my Dad's. There's a round wooden box with metal drills for a brace type chuck, probably for a vintage drill press. A self contained carving chisel set, No. 77 egg beater hand drill, and a T-handled ratchet brace for large auger / beam drills.
