Show some sympathy guys
It’s actually a blue plastic wine bung and the “teat” bit flips over and pushes a silicon ring out to seal the wine bottle. But - ideal for slipping in the bottle top and keeping any nasties out yer beer! And obviously not using the flip bit.As if....
I thought that was a baby's teat on the bottle, you do NOT want to know what mental image it conjured up.
Can still see some red paint on that!
Although from the same era, I notice that your 74 is slightly different from mine, as it has a securing bolt for the removable pipe jaw, which doesn't seem to appear on later models I've seen ?

That's a very early one, well bought. I'd always wondered what that extra bolt was for (cheers for that info Arc') . Cool & incredibly useful things '74's. My other half bought me one for my 50th.. that's what started me off down this rabbit hole (so it's all her fault )

Looks perfect order
Yes all our vices are in good nick awaiting their turn at resto. Currently just sitting covered in oil and grease but they tidy up well. Had to grab one out of the pile the other day to work on a lathe chuck, the big Woden was holding my chainsaw. Handy having multiples!Looks perfect order
