I can't see it at all.
As a Seller, I think you have 24 hours to accept a bid. With 4 hours to go, why not wait for the auction to run its course? No decent bids in the last few minutes? Then, accept the offer.

As he had not given any shipping information (collection), I asked him whether shipping to Germany would be an option.
He wasn't completely against it, time was running out, he stopped the auction (which surprised me) and we'll talk more tomorrow, when the shipping costs become foreseeable.

Looks weld fabricated from steel plate as with 'Leader' brand of Record of Sheffield.
Also in UK Herbert & Sons of London made all-steel fab vices - principally the Herbert Armourer during WWII (a copy of Swindens), but I think also a non-rotating like yours. (Herberts were makers of weighing scales such as Crown - used in grocers shops up and down the country for decades, even centuries - my then mother-in-law and her partner worked for them in London and then in Haverhill when the co moved in the late 60s).
And maybe at least one other UK maker of similar.
(also imports, but this has a UK look to it?)
ps just checked Wabbits dropbox Record 1963 catalogue (see his post above) - this looks v like the Record Leader on the static jaw side with a few differences on the dynamic side - sold in 4.5, 6 and 8in jaw widths, QR or not (yours is not)

Yep, I bought it thinking its a Leader 14 (6 inch). I can see the two holes where the plate was riveted on. I believe there should be stamping on the dynamic side just behind the jaw.
Edit:
Looking at "StevieO"s one I think it is a genuine Record Leader.

My record leader had stamping on the top of the slide right at the far end I seem to remember. It was very light do may be hard to see

Yeah, for me that's deffo a Leader by Record.
See the slight rectangular "dimple" just above where the sliding jaw moves backwards at the rear.
Obviously crazy overpainted but a good strip down and you have a Steel vice that will last and last and last.
PS.. I recognise my dustbins anywhere......

After the disaster of the Record 36 I bought last month I bought another but Irwin Record unfortunately its covered in Hammerite paint. It wouldn't fully tighten and quick release was hit and miss, turned out to be solidified grease and other gunk on the screw and block. The handle has also been straightend. You can tell they are made from different metals as the Irwin gives a nice ting when you strike the anvil compared to the old Record. The spring and washers on the screw of the Irwin are definitely cheaper with thin, much thinner, washers and less resistance from the spring so they were swapped over.
Plans are to remove the Hammerite paint and repaint in Paragon Record blue and do the Record 25 at the same time. The Record 36 is going to be moved on as spares or repair as I don't have the tools to repair it.
A client has an old vice for me to pick up next time I'm there. Not asked for details as I like a surprise, hopefully a nice one.
