My No 9 is a Parkinson's Perfect Vice with high parting line and all cast-in text on the right, no model no but 6 1/2in wide jaws (although at some point these replaced with 7in jaw facing). re your assumption that the two part might be heavier - mine weighs 119lbs.Interesting, a high parting line and 'vice' spelling. What is also interesting to see is the screw head (somewhat chewed up) that is cast in next to the name plate.
that is uber cool, im always a sucker for a brass name tagOn a roll --- Just returned from refurb shop (greenhouse bench) with some more pix.

No - it's lost all its extras, and to be quite honest, I don't want 'em (except maybe the pipe jaws, but could make such?) - the bare bones is a pretty good vice (unlike most do-it-all tools) with useful anvil and a couple of bending curves - it's gonna replace the Record 74 I used in basement w'shop for 25+ years - a fine tool, but I have a thing about rarities.
Yes , it was seized, but I managed to get it cleaned up and workingwow
they yours?
here we go -- Tyzack, (Shoreditch dealer) 1908 catalogue pages ___My memory isn't what it used to be, will have to keep an eye out for the catalogue with 9B and C in, my B&H catalogues go back to 1913 but they are still the new style parkies in them (well strictly speaking they are the one piece static but jaw inserts are screwed from the front unlike the latest style).
can't remember but I think it might have been on local gumtree - haven't looked there for quite a while, maybe I shouldWhere did you find that little baby? It's so different and so similar at the same time!
Love that file handle. Hope you've got a file card for cleaning the teeth and a bit of chalk to prevent clogging.Regarding the discussion of the two part Parkinson's & vice/vise, one of mine. I'll check the others later.

Yes works like a sash clamp, needs a pin, stamp on other side says its a "farmers handy tool"nice - called a 'farmer's vise' in USA?
does it work like a sash cramp? - needs a pin through the hole on the 'patent side' to go through the bar?
I had the same weights in my excel taken from many different catalogues. (I've had to note QR and Plain screw as the same weights as I can find no separate data)How strange, the sizes went 9, 9c, 9a, 9b. The 9b does look to be the weight range for the biggest in that previous advert.
I'll add those to my dropbox when I get my laptop working again!
