I could do with 4 migs too, 1 with teflon liner and alumin wire, 1 with S/S wire, 1 with .6mm mild steel wire and 1 with .8mm mild steel wire, such a pain in the arze could be saved changing wire etc.
I struggled in the winter of 2008/2009 in my tandem garage (pictures earlier in the thread P34) - didn't matter how much heat I threw at it it was just too damn cold
Last summer/wetting I took the opportunity t add a little insulation as well as improve the storage capacity
Lined the underside of the roof timbers with plasterboard and added a loft hatch that was big enough to accomodate a front bumper assembly to go up in the roof area
Rewiring the lighting circuit and adding a few extra lights
on top of the Plasterboard I laid loft insulation to the depth of the joists and then sheets of floorboard - tongue and grooved chipboard sheets over the top to provide a nice storage area above for lightweight stuff
Blimey did that all make a difference this winter!!
not quite finished yet, need to damp-proof the walls as it's built into the side of a mountain, fit the electrics, and tidy up the upper tier. not too far away though
Only looked at the first 2 pages, but I'm already envyous.
I live at home with my mum & step-dad till I get my own place (only 22, so hopefully in about 2-3 years). Mum has converted the double garage into her workspace, and we have a big shed that's full of loads of crap! No way enough room for a car, etc. Will get pics up when I get home.
Hopefully one day I'll have a garage like some of these. However, a 2-poster ramp is a must have, and a 4WD RR is also something I would like, but at the cost of £50,000 the rolling road seems unlikely to happen for at least another 10-15 years.
