Are water pipes not supposed to be blue?
There's loads of those round-beds out there, I wonder what percentage of the original production is still in use?
Mine is a 1mt long with gap bed, 3 phase, 6hp unit with a speed range from 25-1600RPM which I do all my metal mangling on.
Only got two lathes at the moment, no room to take piccy. Did have 4 this time last year, Frank above got my old Harrison 140.
Boxford TLC125 and an Harrison M300 i cant power any larger.

Great thread this it's just pure engineering porn, I never realised that such a wide variety of machines existed. Can't quite put my finger on it but there's something about lathes It's a bit like vintage cars or traction engines there just very pleasing to the eye.
totally agree, my missus hates it when i drag her to an engineering workshop to pick stuff up, cos i always spend ages staring at lathes and millers :P

any idea what the small bracket is that is nearly in the way of the nameplate
is it to stop the steady at a fixed place as it apperas it is supposed to have a lenght of bar in it according to lathes.co.uk
