No feed, no threading.
Looks like you position the saddle where you need it, lock it down and use the compound and X for working.
It's a basic machine that can be configured to do simple operations in a production environment. A 'second operation' machine. Part goes in, a couple of simple operations like perhaps chamfer, groove, face,, centre drill, part off etc and it comes out again as quick as snot. The multitude features of your average engine lathe aren't required so it doesn't have them.
it does look familiar but I just can't place where I have seen something like it before.
A capstan/Turret lathe are what I would call a repetition lathe and are often used to do the whole part. Thanks for the assessment.
However, wouldn't this description be more applicable to Capstan & Turret Lathe Machines?
Is this not a machine called here a mechanics lathe? (without lead and traction screws that is)

Afraid not although really I am not sure why you would want to unless just idle curiosity.Google image search didn't get me anywhere as I don't know the correct term for this build.
There are great images at lathes.co.uk, but I have to look through each manufacturer and probably won't finish this year ...
Any suggestions to keep looking?

It is not much use if you are planning to do general turning with it.It's that bad, is it?

Flied lice pleesThat name will keep popping up occasionally for years to come.
Re machined saddle, turcite back to height and scraped in cross slide and compoundWhat did you do with the Monarch Plessblake?

Forgive my ignorance but why do you need to get it back to height? Shimming the tailstock would bring that back up and you just end up with a tiny bit more centre height?Re machined saddle, turcite back to height and scraped in cross slide and compound
Made new cross feed screw and nut
Alignment of feed shafts etc.Forgive my ignorance but why do you need to get it back to height? Shimming the tailstock would bring that back up and you just end up with a tiny bit more centre height?
Here's a Unimat that i've never gotten round to putting together yet!, It's the modern extruded type that can be made in to a milling maching and other things!
An old Wade hobby machine..
A Myford 7 that I bought a few years ago and haven't managed to get my old worn Faircut moved so I can set this up in it's place!!
The old Faircut made by Hendersons of Sheffield- Now sauce makers (Hendersons Relish!)
A Granville Senior that I traded a Record woodworking lathe and chucks for..
A small Flexispeed7 that I bought from the sales corner in the Airgun BBS
An even smaller 'Super Adept' from Facey marketplace!
I also have a couple of woodlathes, Actually, One and a half!!
Centrix, This came with a huge motor that was way too big for it, Gave that away as the lights on the street dimmed when I plugged it in!
And the half one!!

The OP's picked a weird title for this thread. The lathes thread is here:
Show us your lathe
Following a comment by wedg1e in mattf's lathe wick oilers post, I thought a show us your lathe thread was a great idea. So heres mine, an old 3.5" vintage grayson bought in a moment of madness when I was in "I need a new toy mode" you know how it is  I am still in the process of...www.mig-welding.co.uk
Hi WozzaaahCan you clarify what you want got rid of please? Just report the individual posts or thread and we'll sort it.
