Show us your welding cart/trolley...

I always end up making trolleys/carts for the welders I have had over the years, like to google them up and see what innovative ideas people have built into theirs. So I am sure this has been done before and if so then feel free to kick me or add me on the end of the list.

If you like add an image of your cart and lets see what you have constructed or bought.

No matter how big I make them they always end up overloaded haha, mower wheels come in handy from old clapped out lawnmowers, mind you these have their work cut out!

TA 181i, TA 202 and a 30XP, plus 6 grinders (I know I know but I hate changing disc's haha) and a load of other "stuff"..

My rotating tig holder, can be locked into position.

I like the rotating torch holder. I might borrow that idea ...imitation being the sincerest form of flattery.

I like my torch holders, wheel up trolley and you can place it in a convenent place, with it fixed I was always thinking round a bit, up a bit, never happy..lol

Chopped them around a bike since then also the diamond mesh was all that was around at the time.. Just a bit of fun really and somewhere for the welders to live.

I see the carpet, but not the bed? (Maybe my bike ramp) Carpet for knees and oil spills No welding or grinding in here welders don't normally live in here

Yes ok ok...I hang my head in shame, my excuse is, I was up to my eyes with work, had no spare wheels or castors and Daughter was pestering me for what I wanted for my birthday.

BUT..It's actually a pretty decent cart and does it's job ok so no apologies for breaking the welders code of 'Why buy one when I can make it'

Once upon a time there was an old bed frame.


After a bit of cutting and welding. ..





And at the end it becomes a not so beautiful but still comfortable welding trolley, with lot of room for grinders and accessories...

Absolutely None!

I have that exact same trolley as CumbriaSteve. and it can be a pain in the ****, The welding plant slides to to the back of the shelf due to the slope, and it then encroaches on the secured gas cylinder, which then interferes with the reg when I am using my 10 litre cylinder. When I have my 30 litre cylinder in on rotation the main on/off switch on my R-Tec 250-I is awkward to get at. If I space the welder from the back edge with a bit of timber, the Euro connector on the front panel of my plant sticks too far out beyond the front of the trolley, which is an issue in the limited space I have to work in.

Now that I have just bought myself a new R-Tec 200Amp DC tig, and with with my Mig and plasma and a small set of draws already on the trolley, there is not any room for my Tig set and the torch assembly, so for me the solution is to make a new trolley over the next couple of weeks or so when I have a little time available away from jobs and projects.

It's my first trolley and my first welder too, i just based my project in other ones seen on the net... I thought the sloped bench would give me better access to the welder commands... If it turns out to be uncomfortable I need just another pair of holes and a cut on the wood to transform it in plain one or something else...
the main problem with this bench is that the welding distorsion make just three wheels out of four touch the ground contemporarily. ..

There are some nice design's in here. Im planning on making my own soon and it may turn out to be a frankinstines monster of several different designs and needs

made mine out of an old sack trolley, just being a lazy tart really, half the frame was already done for me, with the wheels in alignment etc. just added the front supports (scrap angle iron) for the mig, tig, and now plasma cutter... well not added that yet, but it's on the list...

The other advantage with the sack trolley is that moving it around for the big part is easy, then for the moving it around in place for final setting, there's castors on the front. Will try to get some photos up tomorrow..
