Is that a rwd box or 4wd?
Ahhh that's a shame, would have gone nicely in that scimitar I just got.
Reclaim, re-used, recyclerepair" panels that had been used had "Castrol GTX" printed on them . . .
Afternoon Chaps. Could someone suggest how I could make a set of press dies to press this indent into a new panel please?
The panel is a sill on the XR4 and it is unique because of the body kit and these indents are where part of that bodykit is mounted. Only generic sills are available (Even the Cosworths didn't have these indents) so I have to somehow make these myself.
Thanks
Dom

Great idea!! And some fine work on that Alfa. Not exactly the same but this is what I did to form the indents for jacking points on my Alfa.
They moved the jacking points (but not the indents) so they are redundant and it's all a little pointless but sometime you just do it for the sake of it.
Timber would work as well and it's easier to shape.

Bit of a diversion, no welding but a bit of heat required. Started on the upper wishbone As removed from the car with the ball joint removed After blasting but siting about for a while Removing swivel arm and bush And then trying to remove bearing Not playing ball So a...www.mig-welding.co.uk
yes, I could make a former either out of hardwood or steel like DCAL did and then form into it.If these parts of the old sills are still good you could cut them off and weld them onto the new panels ... Or you could form them with an air hammer by stretching using a sheet I plywood as a base. That's how I made this:
