hey everyone i have just got a silverline regulator and air filter for spraying and i have attatched it to the 2nd tank is this correct ? also the regulator says in on one side does this mean that that side connects to tank on the other is for the air line ?

"In" is the inlet, connected to the air supply and "Out" is connected to the tools &c.

It doesn't really matter where you connect it to as long as it gets full pressure from the compressor.

Right thats fine I can look at the in out tonight my only concern was that the regulator was building up pressure in the 2nd tank but then i tryed to control it by turning the dial clock wise and anti clockwise and it didnt seem to do any thing I was trying to get it down to 40psi for spraying but maybe it was something I was doing.

Lookong at your pics, you want to go from compressor to 2nd tank to inlet on regulator.

Turning the knob clockwise should increase the pressure, turning anticlock will reduce it and you may hear a slight hiss as the pressure drops.

oh right when I started to turn it I though I was at the end of the thread and it started to hiss so thats right then sorry for the stupid questions its all new to me.

Last night I had a good look at the reg and I managed to fix it. There was a problem with the plastic knob I was not sitting on the metal screw properly so it was just spinning and not doing anything so took it off and put it back on the right way and its fine now. Im going to have a go at painting soon as my bonnet needs some TLC.
