fyi found one of the old reels of enamal wire. came from www.brocott.co.uk must have been cheepest as i am tight

@mike 109444. Thanks so much - very insightful points and very useful. I'll see how to size the winding wire when it's all apart - maybe rewinding primary and secondary using the number of turns as currently will make it easier to match the output voltages correctly ....then I'll just be horrified at the cost of new copper wire I suppose (like yourself I tend to be 'economical' when I can, )
