I've got snap on torx bits (well blue point) because they get abuse and its handy to be able to swap them. Rest of my gear is a mix of us pro, britool, facom etc.
Everyone to there own but I don't get the snap-on thing when top quality stuff like Elora, Gedore & Stahlille or even KingDick (if you want to keep it british made) are available why spend more?
I cant agree with the whole snap on is the best theory. one of the lads that does my mot's on the bikes used to use a lot of snap on but he got that fed up of having to claim new tools from snap on after the originals had lasted a few weeks. he now buys the likes of teng tools and Halfords professional stuff and hasn't had any problems with them, and some of the cheaper stuff has taken some abuse too
I have a mixture of Halfords Pro, Snap On, and Draper stuff. Spanners and such are Draper/Sealey cos they get lost, broken etc. ditto with most sockets, but ratchet stuff is either halfords pro or snap on. The way I see it, if it has a moving part, it'll fail at some point, so why not have something with a lifetime warranty...

You're right about halfords warranty (dont know about snap on, most of my gear is facom) but to be fair to halfords ive heard a few people saying that they've taken ratchets back for exchange with no issues. The moving parts you are buying the life time warranty for are not covered so you have wasted your money if that was the prime concern.
