I guess it’s the natural progression from when every modded car had a yb cosworth in it replacing the hot rodded v8’s of the 70/80’s

Have three in race cars that compete reliably at well over 400bhp and dozens in my rsoc that are reliable

Aye, but they are slowing you down a whole lot. I would be making them as thin as you can live with, lose weight and time. And hopping after the jumps is also losing you time, need more damping.

You must be joking, the battering they get any thinner and they'd be ripped off, there's already 6" splits in the rears from firing rocks through them, to save what? 500 grams?
Already dented a marshalls car from 50m away from firing rocks past them, thankfully they were pretty indifferent about it!
What they want is not making lighter, it's some vented louvers, but there are continuous surface regs that make them tricky
The hop after the jump is because there's a second small yump it lands on if you watch that shoves the car back up when it's on full compression. You'll notice there's very little overshoot at all after that second landing.
