I appreciate that being tidy and organised isn't for everyone,

As a naturally very Chaotic person, I disagree...

Just because people like me can't force themselves to maintain order, doesn't mean they don't enjoy or benefit from being in a tidy environment.

I have shadowfoam in a lot of my tool storage now and have been progressively trying to make it easier to put stuff away than to leave it out, but the problem always comes down to time management...

I'm trying to do multiple ambitious projects on an overlapping basis, whilst also needing to do running repairs on stuff, around a job with no fixed schedule...

I’ve reached the same conclusion, apart from the fact it’s so much easier to start your day with everything in its place so you know where it is, it’s just much nicer psychologically not to have a pile of dirty tools lying on the bench/floor.

I've just walked into my work space and realised that the scattering of tools and bits are a good reminder of what I did yesterday and why I walked in this morning. The tidy alternative is to wander about trying to remember and then start yet another job and end up with 2 unfinished projects and so on.

Certainly will, by which time I'll have gotten shut of more stuff that I quite frankly don't need and is just cluttering the place.

And by then the foldaway welding bench should be sorted.

finally got round to fitting decent wheels to the 500ton Rapidor saw so that I could move the sodding thing in and out.

How do you find using it on wheels, does it stay put while cutting?

Mines flat on the floor and likes to try and go for a walk, which probably isn’t helped by the fact the main bearings are worn and the cast base doesn’t sit flat on the floor. Still cuts true despite all of that.

Having it on wheels would be useful but not if when I come back to it it’s made its way half way down the street

it would be simple enough to fit some "over center " legs to lift the wheels off the ground and provide stability.

As long as they're stout.

I have seen those saws go off for a stroll across the workshop even stood on their own frame if the surface underneath has some give to it...

An overly bouncy leg design might just see it swap their roller skates for a space hopper!

It has a cover but I took it off for the photo.

It's made from an old curtain but it has a frilly edge and bears a strong resemblance to OH's drawers. I'm not saying she's a big lass, you'll have to use your imagination .

I appreciate that being tidy and organised isn't for everyone, but I can't see the sense in hunting through a pile of stuff for a particular tool when you could just open a drawer and it's there, ready and waiting, all you're doing is wasting time. And why climb over piles of stuff when you can organise it and see where everything is?

I try with the workshop, but unfortunately it's snug in thete & I keep buying stuff. Saying that though, you should see the flat. I keep telling my niece I will make it child safe/friendly for my grand niece, (one day).

Thankfully all four wheels have locks on them. Even with that it does rock back and forth but seems to stay put.
I have a video from last weekend that I need to edit then I’ll put it up.

That'd be my choice. I've tried wheels on odd things on occasion, & they always ended up being taken off. Not.much movement you tend to get, but just enough to be irksome.

I'm not so sure about "randomly chooses", it's more like randomly "randomly forgets" for me. Yet I had the word milliseconds before I was about to use it

I'm the same, I'll stop partway through a sentence as I know there's a word I was going to use, but can't remember it

It's damned frustrating,isn't it?
I then substitute something not really appropriate only to have my brain, seconds later, laugh and pop up the word, which I then have to use to correct my previous comment/statement.
I've got used to it now, in the same way that I accept that names are not one of my strong points.

The best bit about using the wrong word is the look of puzzlement on the other persons face as they think that they have missed something.

A guy that worked for me years ago would use wrong words on purpose for laughs,walking a customer around her lawn talking to her about irritating it sticks in my mind, good job we were three paces behind
