Beautiful job Pete, just the sort of thing I'd like to go in my workshop to replace my Chester Chinese effort! I just love the smooth curves of the castings on these old lathes compared to the newer stuff.
Thank you all for the kind words. Yes it's going for sale, I'll do an advert shortly. This was always the plan in fact when I bought it I told the seller I was going to rebuild it back to as good a condition as I could get it then sell it on and he was happy with that. It was his late father's lathe and he was pleased that it was getting a new lease of life. I'll do an advert shortly.
You have made a truly awesome job there Pete. As you know I’ve been hankering after buying that off you for months and months, but my job looks like it may no longer there soon, so sadly I’ll not be having it off you.
I’ll be sticking with my little 920 for now, which is still running beautifully by the way!
Threading dial. Yes I know it's 'sold' but it can't go to it's new owner yet and I always meant to make one. Anyway, it was simple and fun to make. I did actually download a model and spent 7 hours 3d-printing one but I didn't like the way it was bendier than a Russian gymnast. This one took a lot less time to make than the other took to print and it's a lot nicer.
I also made a trolley to get it safely down the alley and into a van
