I have a fast mover and a lidl hvlp gun both do just fine for me at £20 each thy dont brake the bank

So I am full of questions so I apologise in advance but to be honest having paid out a lot of money for a terrible job I find myself in a position of having a go myself which I'm kind of looking forward to but wow there is so much info
Anyway now to my next question, so I have looked at the fastmover gun which has been recomended and all looks well but do people use 1 gun for all primer base and laquer or is 2 guns preferable, my reason for asking is a pair movers can be had for £100 but I can also get a devilbliss flg5 for similar money?

depends on what you are spraying really and nozzle and tip size i brought a big fast mover 2.5 or 2.8mm for spraying raptor bed liner thinned onto pannels

get the correct resperator and 2k will be ok

Don't use a half mask if you decide on filters as it's difficult to get a proper fit, go for full face and remember that once you use them, it's a very limited life (about 15 hours within 30 days).

ive got the blue Clarke gun. I found that thinners removes the blue after a while.
ive used it for cellulose and 2k from primer through to clear coat.
ive got a sealey gold one as well and cant say its better or worse bar that the gold hasn't come off!!
you can use the same gun for every process providing the tip is big enough
just make sure you strip and clean it out after you use it.

I wouldn't rush out to buy another FLG5.

Its a no name mini gun I picked up at my local paint factors.
I bought the FLG5s after the Gunman gave it rave reviews, the problem is that in Australia where he lives it is shipped with a different air cap to what we get here in the UK so its not really comparable.
With the 1.8mm I have found the following, I get bad orange peel when using it for epoxy primer, but good results with primer filler.
With the 1.4, base coat goes on fine but I get orange peel with my clear, so have to do a fair bit of wet sanding to get results I'm happy with, but on other occasions I have had no peel in the clear coat.
I think my main issue is I just don't paint enough to get a good feel.
Here is the last thing I painted with the FLG5s, 1.8 used for the epoxy and high build, the flatted back.
Three base coats with the 1.4.
Two coats of clear, nice and flat on the top surface.
But a bit of peel on the side that needs to be wet sanded out.

I have the pgf18 which I use just as a primer gun and for that it is perfect, if you want to use it for base / 2k / or clear its a little too much, you really want a 1.4 tip maximum or 1.2. Also I find that the air consumption is quite high. A good finish can be achieved quite easily
If you look at the photos below you will be able to see the difference in the guns and you will see that the finish from the flg5 is better than the pgf18 however if you were to wet sand and polish you could achieve a very good finish but it would take more work than just getting a better gun
I use a 100L 3.hp 14CFM compressor and with the pgf18 I would struggle to keep going without letting the compressor get its breath

Thanks but a quick question if I my do you think you would get a good finish with a diffrent gun being say a 1.4tip as from what I'm reading 1.8tip for primer and 1.3/4 for base but wondering if the Flg is making such a diffrence as some say it does and some say it doesn't, I will not be spraying any 2k.
