Nick67GT@ , by any chance do you have part one (Jan 1953) of that set of Bicycle side car plans? If so would it be possible to scan them and send me a set please.
I would be looking at a independent fixing for the breakaway chain, at the moment if the pin was to fail you would loses the trailer and the chain at the sane time.
So much for me nearly being done. I was supposed to weld a extra piece on the hitch but forgot actually. Good job I got 1 extra bar left to support the 90" angle thanks.
Can Any 1 else see any other faults or problems I can fix before I finish ? Advice much appreciated
I like the idea alot, nice job...when I made one for my mountain bike, the one thing it lacked was wheel guards, so any load that shifts sideways will rub/hit the wheels...those being spokes, well, you get the idea. a simple guard can be made from some plywood and a small piece of timber bolted to the floor....lastly, add some eye bolts to the corners to help bungie any loads in place....
I like the idea of the triangulation piece, and cranking up the heat and re-adressing those welds will give you peace of mind.
