Thanks for that, we are feeling a lot better now, not right though. We were lucky that we didn’t get it that bad, it seems strange, some get it & don‘t know, others it floors for weeks & all sorts in between. It’s a bit ironic, just prior to Christmas, wife went to doctors for a routine blood test, nurse said “can I take a second lot, as Oxford University is doing research on the effects of covid” my wife said “ I’ve not had covid, been lucky” & then a couple of days later, she’s got it!

I sent a text to a mate of mine telling him not to call round as we had the Chinese Pox! He didn’t understand, looked it up on Google & it came up with caught syphilis, he did think that was unlikely thoughProbably caught it at the doctors!

We're all adults, and most like a good snigger at adult humour. It is a family friendly forum, and of course some are a little more upset by things like this than others, so thanks for all the reports that there are cocks on the forum.
If anyone has an issue with a 'depends who posts' situation, please flag it up. Mods all moderate differently, so if you have an issue, shout up at the time. Not much we can do after the event.

well some of my Christmas money buys arrived today
a ten piece set of 440's a 20mm a 13mm reversible ratchet spanner and a pair of Mac pliers all good buys . The 10 piece is missing a 9 and 15mm ( i've already got a 15 ) a 9mm is on order .Oh and I found a very cheap 17mm ratchet on fleabay too

I've loads of Facom spanners, but my ratchet set is Halfords Pro, as a complete set of Facom ratchets is silly money.

These are the first for me a lot of my others are Mac but I didn't want to sell a kidney for any more , and I think the 440's are as good just possibly not as nicely finished . Mine are just for own use I don't mind fair money when I get decent price . the 10pc set was £58 .......

I first started working with Facom tools 20 odd years ago over here in France, I'm not really a tool snob (honest), but I love the older range OGV, over the last fifteen years I've built up all the spanners I could need, they don't leave the house / workshop, they're so ergonomic.
I've broken a few Facom stuff (through forcing, or inappropriate use), over the years, the no quibble guarantee is unbeatable, they had a range of screwdrivers, the plastic peeled off, no worries, changed.

Got this on Christmas day from my wife's auntie that tested positive on Boxing day.
Next year no-one comes round, they can all eat their own turkey
But on a more cheerful note I got a nice LED Lensor head torch and a deep hole marker off the MIL and I treated myself to a wacker plate for upcoming work on the driveway.
I bought a service kit as well that's just turned up.
Off to the shed.

Rather late for Christmas, but it got here eventually - from a disposal auction house in Merthyr Tydfil:
A 2017 Citroen e-Berlingo electric van, 21,500 miles, ex-Guildford Borough Council.
It is my ninth EV, and like all the others, it does not work. This one has a mechanical, rather than electronic, fault - a stripped splined coupling between the 50kW 200Nm 9,000rpm electric motor and the single-speed gearbox. When I've got it in bits I will start a thread asking for advice about repair options....
I took a big gamble in buying it unseen and untested, but am pleased to see that the "Ready to Drive" indicator lights up, followed by the rasping of tiny worn teeth as the motor spins. Can't wait to find out if it is the £7000 motor, the £3000 gearbox, or the £70 coupling that's worn it's splines away.
