bead blasting does not remove paint it peenes metal as there glass ballsTake it off and to a bead blaster and get it done, save yourself some work and probably money as well £20 in the hand should see it back to bare metal and a wipe over ready to prime and fill.
Then out with the hose....she will never know.

The car cost £4500 on ebay and I think I spent about 4k on parts over the years and about 1500 hours, plus a lot on new tools.
