No miscutting or measuring woes, but on Saturday I bought half a litre of 2K paint. Almost bought a litre, but thought better of it, which was good as it turns out.
Poured 100ml into a measuring cup and mixed it with the hardener, then brush painted my parts Ooo er.
Overestimated the small amount needed, so poured the excess back into the tin.

Today I installed some new cables for a disabled toilet alarm as part of a conversion I am currently involved with, then I went on to drill through two of them making routes for the fire alarm system I am also installing!
Harsh words were had with myself for my stupidity!
So tomorrow I will be going back and reinstalling the disabled toilet alarm cables, before carrying on with the fire alarm as originally planned!

I tried to paint some rocker covers today. Three attempts, first one with a cursory flat after cleaning took the aerosol primer OK. On with the same type of colour coat and it all pickled. Second attempt I blasted them after first fault finding and repairing it, then finding a magnetic torch to go inside. Coat of primer again, all good until I tried to turn one around to spray the other side. Of course I dropped it onto the other good one. IR cured, then flatted back and I finally got an acceptable finish. I gave up at that point and need tomorrow off to gather my enthusiasm, before rebuilding on Friday.

Top tip : When you're trying to pull the input shaft out of a gearbox using your nice new slide hammer, clean all the oily crud out of the bearing recess before you start.
That way, you'll be able to see the gert big circlip you should have removed first.
No damage done, this time.

Done the same with an ancient 1954 Bedford RL 3 ton GS cargo truck , the rear hub , the half shaft & hub fell out the axle and the lorry was stuck between two gert big oak trees in the middle of a soggy wood in minus 11 oC . Managed to scrape some of the ancient rock hard grease away to see what was within but couldn't find any retaining rings. Then I had the idea of getting the cookhouse guys boil up 15 gallons of water and help me pour it over the hub to clean it up .. it worked .....a massive five inch by 1/4 x 1/4 " thick circlip hiding inside the damaged hub . Getting it out was a right pig as we were never issued with proper circlip pliers.
