Fixed a fuel leak.... on my little run out the other day, two things were more than apparent the pads need adjusting. And she was very thirsty probably used 4gallon in 30miles.
So I stripped the carb down. It was new last yr, the float bowl was full of swarf .
All the jets stripped, blown out. Hopefully it will sort it

Rayburn moving fun, spent the last few days attempting to lay block work. I will never bé more than an amateur.
Rayburn was bought four ? years ago, sat in the barn, then the 23rd of December it flooded here, had 30cm's of water in the barn.
Floods gone down, -7 this morning, ideal for dragging it out.
Having never lit it, we lit it outside, to see if smoke spewed from obscure places, it didn't.

Well i'm toasty next to it, maybe tomorrow thé future kitchen maybe warmer ? Fingers crossed...
Still got to finish thé chimney installation, finish thé wall, render..
And thé reste...
Rayburns are great, we had an oil fired one in our old house. Then oil was 7p a litre, cheap to run. We had no electric oven, all cooking was done on the Rayburn. Only the wife’s good clothes got ironed, the rest got folded and put on top of the hot plate lid to get ironed!
Rayburns / Agas rock.
Ho, ho...I imagine it's better if you put them on a sturdy base so that doesn't happen.
I'll get my coat...
Rayburns / Agas rock.
But they do need to run 24/24 in my experience. And take a minimum of 24 hours to start to warm the house up. But what's the expression, makes a house a home?
The hot plates in the lower oven too.
Up to 8.6 degrees in here, a way to go.
Ho, ho...
Temporary installation, needs to be 10 or 11 cms off the floor to come up to the same height as the rangemaster stove going next to it, all very temporary.
Vague attempt to warm up this end of the house, our bedroom is glacial in the morning.
Dogs installed...

Ours was run all the time. It did everything, heating, hot water, cooking
Thats pic take me back to when I was a kid yeh I know not that long ago to you oldys we had the exsact same one and same color. It never went out over winter in all the years I can remember, father evan hade some radiators plumbed on it, also had great time loging father always said 3 warms.
Cheers
Well it didn’t. I hadn’t noticed a ball bearing when stripping the jets and and acc pump out of the main body, as I turned it over the ball fell out. It must be a check valve, and put it back in the acc pump, truck starts and runs but bogs on even the slightest touch of the throttle. So I guess it doesnt belong in there. It’s an Indian clone of a Zenith (USA) 28/228.
There’s no ball in the original carb, and I’m getting no joy for a schematic from the seller.
ANy suggestions
Steam has stopped pouring out of the back boiler pipes.
Sealing ball for one of the airway drillings?
Just a query, is it OK to heat it without water passing through those pipes?
I am thinking of a steam engine boiler. You would not light a fire in that without water in the boiler.
