The Dishwasher, she gave off for a few weeks there so I decided to take it apart today and spotted a corroded and burnt wire.



There was a cold solder joint on the board also so I think this created resistance along with the corrosion.



Re soldered the board, cleaned the pins thoroughly and attached new wires and its working away happily again.

Having semi dismantled it and reassembled it turned out the trip switch on the distribution board had died.

Ho, hum.

The plastic clamps on one of my roof pressure washing telescopic poles broke, had to make something more hardy. So using decent band clamps i knocked up a few knurled knobs and kinda broached a bolt into them with my 15T press and loctite. This pole can extend out to 39ft so is a very useful addition to the arsenal.

Well, today i tried to fix my Miluwakee caulking gun. With the emphasis on tried.

And failed.

Only goes backwards. So you pull the trigger, and normally it drives the plunger foward, and when you release the knob, it retracts slightly.

It now just does the retraction. But nothing else.

Plulled it all to pieces. Theres a microswitch that inhibits forward drive when it runs out of travel. Operating that doesnt fix it, but does change it such that it goes backwards when you press the switch, rather than when you release.

Its all controlled by a little electronic board. Im stumped.

Any thoughts, or anyone on here good with this stuff. The "official" repairers wont give you a clue, just send it in and we will tell you cost.

Only done about 20 hours work but out of warranty now,

Engine change finished, good four days work from start to finish.

This bit was fun, engine attached to forks, not breaking windows or bending balconies.

... following on from stuff I broke ( or the missus broke )
Stuff I fixed ....the dead washing machine. New parts arrived yesterday, drum support, new seals and bearings. Another one saved from the recycling yard and one less to be loaded into the container in the far East
Run a few cycles and all water tight. Towel test on the weekend when the missus gets hold of it

There is bloke on Youtube that does a lot of Milwaukee repairs but I don't know if he has done a caulking gun.

Thanks to suggestions here ref. cable to use when replacing rotten angle grinder etc cables I spent a nice warm afternoon in my indoor workshop / spare bedroom replacing some . Luckily I remembered that my dad showed me how 70 years ago . ( unsubtle joke)
