Had a think over the weekend about how to take the slack out of the drive chain on the electric car for the kids and this is what I came up with.
If you imagine the bit with the 4 holes and large aperture will be cut into the car and the motor goes on the plate. It’s be nice if it would work as is but I think I might need to remake the mount plates in Ali which will be a first for my DIY CNC machine

I bought an old Singer 29K (1934) and have been sorting out some timing issues. Seems a lot better. I cut up some leather scraps to make a Poppy or two, and a Keyfob thing for my father.

No I don't have one I used a hand-ground form tool then file and emery.

1.2mm stainless from the look of it. Need to make a valence similar to the black one. marked out with sharpie line followed by a scribe.
Need to leave about 2mm for the fold and chop a bit extra out of the corners so they don't foul when folded.
Oh and you got to get it right first time. eek.
My knife isn't long enough to form it in one go so I do the middle a bit, then gradually bring in the ends etc.
Worked a treat.
Nice clean bends and the press tool allows me to remove all the fingers except one that fits the channel for the last bend.
Rinse. Repeat.
It's for a neighbour and he tells me it fits a treat.

Well that was a blast from the past. Thanks for the "likes". I only respond since this property has changed hands twice since I made that thing and I am now doing odd jobs for the new owner. The kitchen has been remodelled and the appliance long gone so I was quite happy to recover this exact piece which the new owner asked me to dispose of for her...

That’s a nice job. I need to make something similar for the oven in our new house. My folder won’t form such nice tight bends tho unfortunately
That is a quality weld - especially when using an arc welder. I have looked at the final product whereby you have used the checker plate and 8mm steel . Beautiful !

It's not quite finished yet as I'm a slow worker and been looking after the kids. I've now added supports for a middle shelf and have three more bits of checker plate to stitch into one. That's the problem of using scrap!
I stuck these two bits of angle together as they were offcuts and too short for one of the parts I needed. I bevel the but joint as that seems to work best for me.

Made the capping for the gunwale that the stripper box will sit on.
Also got some thinner leather today so this evening I have made a keyring for my bike.
And a couple of ones for the boss to use at Christmas. the bigger one was a mistake as I meant to make the height 60mm but instead made that the width.
So made the correct size one after.
