It is hardened so will break into small rounded pieces like an old fashioned windscreen did.
A lot of high rise building glass isn't hardened like this. The last thing you want, with floor to ceiling windows, 30 floors up, is the tip of someone's umbrella causing it to disintegrate leaving a damn great hole.
The tend to just crack against impact. Gives you time to apply a safety film.
Failure through nickel sulphide inclusion can still be pretty spectacular mind.
