Heat, mostly, and a damp cloth:Daft question but how do you bend the wood?
If that's for me, yes. Why?Do you have rivet pliers?
No wonder I was getting de ja vu when eventually posted it in the correct thread. If that's for me, yes. Why?
Heat, mostly, and a damp cloth:
Hey! Welding content: Some aluminium tube squashed to give it a tighter curve, some brackets welded on, and the end capped off (but any old bit of tube would have worked, just I didn't have anything suitable):
Blowlamp up its backside:
Get it good and hot, then just coax the wood around it (two hands needed, but one was holding the camera here). Damp cloth to provide a little steam and (hopefully) prevent scorching.
(There's a build thread over on the Fretboard forum here )
Superb work. Does it sound good as good as it looks?Well, I finished it today, but started it a while back. (Apologies - no metal or welding, but the fretboard, mother of pearl inlays, and bridge were made on my CNC.)

Today (OK, yesterday)
(Rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck, ebony fingerboard & European spruce soundboard. The body finish is French polished shellac, the neck is Tru OIl. Made to the 'OM' plans from here.)
Thanks! First impressions are that it is surprisingly loud and resonant, but I haven’t set it up well enough to play properly yet. I’m giving it a week or so under string tension then I’ll level the frets and tweak the nut and saddle to get the action right.Superb work. Does it sound good as good as it looks?
