Big light now with improved Dewalt battery mounting system.Would a nice 3D printed DeWalt battery holder stuck on the side be better?

I made an adaptor to hold a tapping head for use in the lathe tailstock.

It looks interesting is it also going to be a hurricane proof shelter ?Made a bit more progress on the footing forms for the new garage (continued from HERE). We temporarily pinned the forms to the bedrock with short pieces of rebar about every two feet to prevent any spreading.

For internal rebar reinforcement, we started by drilling about 60 holes in the ledge (this only took about 30 seconds per hole) and anchored vertical pieces of rebar in the holes with Sika two-component anchoring adhesive. Besides solidly anchoring the footing to the bedrock, they also provide vertical rebar reinforcement while supporting the horizontal runs of rebar. We took the time to configure the rebar properly in the corners.

We should be able to install the rest of the rebar for the footings tomorrow, and if all the stars are in alignment, we plan to pour the footings next week. Then the next step will be to set up the forms for the foundation walls on top of the footings.
'urricanes 'ardly 'appen 'ere......is it also going to be a hurricane proof shelter?
No, that's the problem, unless you use your welly-clad foot for the first one and the boot jack for the second.Dirty wellies, pull off one using the other foot to hold it down. Now you have dirt on the platform. How do you pull off the other boot without getting your sock dirty?
Make a double width one, one side for each boot.Far superior to the one I made. Same problem though. Dirty wellies, pull off one using the other foot to hold it down. Now you have dirt on the platform. How do you pull off the other boot without getting your sock dirty?
Or am I wrong as usual?
Mmmmm yes I often have that problem with the cheap plastic amazon version……Far superior to the one I made. Same problem though. Dirty wellies, pull off one using the other foot to hold it down. Now you have dirt on the platform. How do you pull off the other boot without getting your sock dirty?

Pull off half way, then treading inside the calf piece, you can jack the other one offNo, that's the problem, unless you use your welly-clad foot for the first one and the boot jack for the second.
You what !!Pull off half way, then treading inside the calf piece, you can jack the other one off
Nice work. How on earth do you go about measuring / figuring out the bend locations for that?An awkward handrail, steep and variable radius,25solid round.View attachment 465038View attachment 465039View attachment 465040View attachment 465041View attachment 465042View attachment 465043View attachment 465044View attachment 465045View attachment 465046
Great Idea. More work, but he only addition I can visualise would a sleeve with bearings over the horizontal stem, which would work for older large lathes with "threaded" mounts. The chuck jaws could be clamped onto the sleeve making the chuck easier to spin off, or on. Here's a rough sketch............................................... but this should work as a prototype.

That’s not too bad,the hard part is estimating,I quoted £1080+vat,it came out £1284+ vat,so I’ll probably meet them half way.Nice work. How on earth do you go about measuring / figuring out the bend locations for that?
