Next trial bowl glue a circle of block over a plastic bowl shaping & smoothing the blocks slightly wedge shape on opposite sides so they touch the edges at the outer edge , turned up such blanks look absolutely fantastic .Managed to turn a couple of wooden bowls today.
The first one was an experiment as I made it from an 8' length of 3"x2" pine from B&Q. Not the easiest of wood to turn as it was full of sap that ended up all over the tool rest and turning tools, and even in my beard, but I'm pleased with the end result:

And I'm even more pleased with the second one. This was made from offcuts that came from a packing case, (that was used to deliver a pivot pin for the bucket on a Doosan loading shovel iirc), and was a lot easier to turn due to the wood being bone dry:

Considering I'm not much more than a complete beginner at wood turning, I'm very happy with the finished product.
I know this's rich, coming from me, but you make me wonder on occasion.
Nice work, very clean!

Suprised you didn't put bars on the shaft locking screws so you never have to look for an Allen key to adjust the heightI bought a new bandsaw a while back and needed an infeed roller for it to cut up a length of 50x50 bar for making some sash window weights. Anyway, had a raid of the off cuts rack and managed to mangle this together out of what I had laying around.
Not my best video, but ill blame it on the fact I haven't done one in a few years.
Hope you enjoy.
Cheers,
Rob
