The contents might though, in the event of 'irresistible force meets immovable object'.
A local woman used to drive around in a big, old Merc with a couple of large stones on the rear parcel shelf, used to anchor a travel rug for her pooch on the back seat.

You could see the penny drop when I pointed out that, if she was in a crash, those stones would still be coming forward at 40/50/60 mph, possibly taking the top of her head off in passing.....

Better than having it lose on the seat then.
It's for stuff like wallet keys. Box of screws I cba to out in the back. Tape measure.
If I have a head-on the tape measure going through the windscreen will be the least of my worries

That's nothing compared to a man I knew this summer.
He has a tractor and do some work with it .
He's completely insane and he use one those attachments similar to what's used to defuse land mines .
Have you ever heard how a 12 gauge slug sounds?
Imagine to be about 500m away from this man an his tractor and ear that sound...
A 5 or 6kg hammer flying like a bullet .
If it hit someone is 1 shot 1 confirmed kill ...

Actually my favourite never failed yet in the morning one of them will be in the bottom of the bin alongside cardboard tube that was balanced with bait inside. Then flow a bit of argon into said bin then switch on magnetron

I came accross a milk bottle on its side in my field few years back ,some one had chucked over the hedge, inside 3 dead field mice , although I am a country guy born and bred hate to think of them dying slowly , obviously the glass was too slippery for them to climb up out of the neck.
so might be worth a try as a trap, maybes take them over the woods and let them have half a chance rather than just do them in though if it works for you.

I've got no qualms about killing pests if it's humanely done, cooking their insides with a magnetron can't be a quick death though.
