Bit of a slow one today, footling with the lathe, smokin' fags, found a small* (5") 4-jaw chuck at the back of a cupboard and an unused backplate - won't look pretty, backplate is a couple of inches bigger than the chuck but matches (pretty much) the spindle nose so machined it anyway... Blind threaded back on the chuck, so as I couldn't find mine (they're in that mess somewhere, I know it!), made some transfer screws to pop-mark and locate the Required Drilling - then discovered I don't have the right counterbore nor the right size endmill for a nice neat job
It may have to look scruffy.
Made quite a bit of cast-iron chips too, the backplate already had the wrong size (too small) spigot so had to machine that off before I even started...
