New Fire Risk carried out. If not insurance is in valid.
If the worse happens all those involved may be having a chat as their words are recorded.


I would like to see at least 2 x 3 hour Emergency lights fitted. Plus a Exit box over the door(s).
2 fire extinguisher's and a fixed floor plan.

Today I need to hide away.
So I did.
Took the new coffee and clean mug and blue top milk.

Paraffin camping stoves can brew up a treat.



The LHS torch was given to me. I knew there was a big issue.
The big and clear one was the lack of pump, but it is a unusual design.

Brew up and away we went.



A raid of my limited stock found a pump rod, a cup washer carrier and retainers we had a plan.

We made one.


Did it work?



New seals and a cleaned jet.

Again I staged this.
But this is a classic of lack of pressure. The paraffin is not a jet and is dribbling out into the "Meths." So it not a hot warming flame. No chance of vaporising the fuel.

More coffee.

Strip down. The pump is over working, but a quick tweak and it is ok. NRV was dirty, but working. The dirt was drawn from the pressure tube.
So when it was in bits, it was boiled up in washing soda.
Not the same pan as the coffee water.

Rebuilt.



Yippppeeee.


The damp patches on the work top is water from the water in the tray, outside, I fired it up in.

one thing i do enjoy is your posts with the old blow lamps then so make a change compared to these new fangled things and in years possible we may go back to them again if the need ever arises

Its dark, raining and middle off December, you are working in that room.
There is an emergency.

You need to see the door.
Be able to make a direct route to it, to aid your escape.

Windows are not a Fire/emergency escape.

We still call emergency exits "Fire Escapes" as it keeps the signs smaller and we are used to seeing the Fire escape sign.

As soon as the glass was smashed with a handy office chair, the window could be used as an exit. The fire brigade often rescue victims through upper floor windows. Hard for them to do that with the bars in place.

With bars on No.

Yes a window smashed with anything will make an escape route.
With bars on, no.

Yes the fire brigade will rescue from the upper floors, but rather not.

They like to count the people at the muster point. Then put out a fire.

That why Risk assessment are undertaken to reduce that kind of thing.

No.
It is the sites duty of care to do all that.

All you have to do is make sure the things like paint are safe to use.

Eg it was brought in good faith from outlet and complies to the BS/Eu regulations.
