I needed a small section of spiraled pipe.

A new base for my grinder
3 10mm plates 300x300, some bearings for the tracking/tension arm and a gas strut. And some quality welding

And a new drive wheel to convert to direct drive, thanks to @Dcal for sending me a huge lump of HDPE turned on the lathe with a big rasp

Finished welding up the frame for my pseudo 'tool wall' and made a bracket to mount it on the back of the old bureau; took some sash cramps and harsh language to get it screwed on the rear if it single-handedly.

Annoyingly the spanners have become magnetised and rather than hang perfectly vertically on their screws they swing towards each other and congregate - only bugs me because I spent so much time spacing them out!

Don't know how good it is but Lidl had a demagnetiser/magnetiser in this week, probably less than a fiver.

Finished the taper pin. Left the top plain, for the time being.



That parting tool works fine. Tested it on parting that piece from the remaining rod. No dramas whatsoever.

Almost finished, 60mm dia shaft turned down to 2" at end and 1/2" keyway. Then 200 mm long X 18mm keyway. Still have to chop to length and put the last keyway on the end but had enough for the night so can wait until tomorrow.
