That is a great idea, when are you moving your workshop next to mine? You can put it in my workshop if you want, I don't mind.

Have you tried it under load, cutting or sanding? Itll slow down a lot when its cutting.
This, on top of the new aluminium tool bracket! Getting a bit worried about all this tidying up you are doingWhilst the Chiron was doing them I started sorting out some drills, looks like I am going to have to make another one, have quite a few MT3 and MT2 to sort yet but I can't believe how many MT1's I have. Now I just have to work out where I have space in the workshop to put another drill stand
Rearranging, never do tidying, just look at the bench I welded it up onThis, on top of the new aluminium tool bracket! Getting a bit worried about all this tidying up you are doing

Shouldn't be, even at lowish rpm carbide should work well. Those threads do look pretty good for mild steel though, mine are very ragged edged when using carbide thread inserts
On mild steel? I've never had much joy, maybe my cuts aren't deep enough or something but its literally like its tearing the steel not cutting itShouldn't be, even at lowish rpm carbide should work well.
APT carbide inserts for stainless. They cut great, really sharp, and well priced too. I'll be buying more, I think. The internal threads were Yamaloy inserts from Zoro.Hot rolled doesn’t thread great. Was you using HSS?
Aye, should cut fine, usually my first pass is 0.5 or 0.7 on dia and then 0.2 or 0.3 after. On mild steel? I've never had much joy, maybe my cuts aren't deep enough or something but its literally like its tearing the steel not cutting it
