Not a bad idea until you trip and impale yourself with 8 sharp tungstens

Stuck my curved bits together. Several cockups were made but some learning happened. 186A for tacking and 110A with filler. When I forgot to lower the amps, I melted 2 of the joints off.

Guesses what it was supposed to be? Not a kitchen impliement

Had a play at TIG welding this afternoon and it occured to me that it might be useful (for some) to have a wee rack for their tungstens should they dip and contaminate it; this never happens to me, obvs, but I thought I'd make an example just to show what could be done. Happened to have a block of aluminium kicking about, so eight holes later...

Please feel free to use this design, royalty free, as I thought some might need more than one tungsten if they're doing a weld longer than a few inches...

Don't get me wrong, I stack up a few double ended tungstens myself, but sitting flat on the table or on the back of the vise where they can do less murder...

I have personally witnessed @Tangledfeet 's ability to injure himself on seemingly innocuous objects. I think the most memorable one was a clump of grass...
With that tungsten holder, it's only a matter of time before there's a "I'm just back from A&E" post...

Made - a slug to help press the bearings out of the casing! Took the Centec mainshaft to bits to replace the bearings as they have suffered from condensation

It's nice having a press to take them out



So main casing now has a coat of red oxide, a bit more filler tomorrow and wait for the bearing quotes to come in

Aah, but you've missed the obvious; I intentionally designed it to function in both the vertical AND the horizontal position...

Managed to get legs on the table saw today:



Other than a going over with the sander and fitting a riving knife and dust extraction and giving the top a coat of wax it's as good as finished. Although I might set to and make a wooden fence as I'm not overly enamored with the aluminium box section effort that was made in a Heath Robinson stylee... And at some stage making a crosscut sled is on the cards... And possibly extensions for the sides and the outfeed...

I've been told I cant bolt a maniquin head to the wall, so it is my attempt at copying and improving upon one of these, while allowing air flow/drying after wet weather - reason for avoiding wood.

However it seems a 5" hemisphere is a bit small and Im aware the bars might put pressure on certain bits of the foam. It needs another think.

Some days ago collected a Castolin Tig machine.
Seller promise me that nobody else was xx around with it to repair.
Xxx up pre service specialist on that one.

Just finished to repair a Bosch GSH 11 E
Made people dance down the street ,equis j.balvin Nicky Jam on my stereo while driving to the parts store.

In the afternoon I'll take the Bosch hammer to the customer , get paid .
And then to another town to check an electrical layout


Yesterday I've spoken to my ex driving instructor who is president of a no profit association which takes food , clothes and little bit of help through words to clochards .
I'll start to help them.
