i can get gear from dynamic cctv in middlesbrough its suposed to be trade only@Agroshield I use an adaptable box to fit it all local to the camera if there is nowhere suitable to hide the connections, they can be a bit unsightly though. I did a system on a farm that had some fixed cameras 250m away from the DVR and doubled the cores for the power and signal. Picture was perfect thank goodness!
@Welderpaul I buy my hik gear from a Cctv contractor only site, you have to prove your a legit installer to buy from them. But I have used these people before in Leicester who are very helpful.

I bench tested the Swann stuff on the way home and 3 cameras are duff. He's boxing it up and sending it back.
He's looking at Hik vision stuff. Seems to be a few places which resell, but a quick flick round the www tonight doesn't show up any sites that look particularly user friendly.
Forum recommendation on somewhere to go for it? Ideally just a ready to fit kit.
hicvision the dvr generaly now have conections for the rj and the cat 5 conectionsAnybody got any recommendations for an rj45 based system,i want a system to fit on to the rj45 cables. sorry for the thread hijack.
Its the plug in type plug, like on the rear of a modem , RJ45.Just to be clear - are you asking about the old style RG59 coaxial CCTV cable, or the new ethernet cat5/6 based system which uses RJ45 terminations? Cat5 = RJ45.

I need black bullet cameras, so looking at using these cameras connected using Cat5E cable and RJ45 plugs to
this 8 channel NVR. Will they work together as plug and play?
The camera has motorised focus - will this NVR remotly focus the cameras?
