swindens vice clean up

2x 6" swindens stripped down, apparently they have not been taken apart before, one came apart easy, the other needed heat snd a big hammer, block of wood.

had these here for a week but only had a quick look, only dawned on me tonight one doesn't have an anvil on top

these are both getting in the parts washer tomorrow then had a date woth a knotted wire wheel!

i brought the 4" one in this thread and after using it i wanted a bigger one to replace my record 7, looked for a 6" swindens for a while, found it and got it brought, a few days later one came up for sale locally so brought that one too, one will be sold. i enjoy being able to take something covered in rust and seized and be able to strip it down, clean snf fettle it back to working order

all cleaned and a coat of linseed, now looking much better.
i noticed that the vice without the anvil has its size marked into the cast, something I've not seen before. my other two don't have this.
