Sorry for the delay. Just been getting it glazed and the white glass is difficult to find. The lamp column has been glass bead blasted (a lot of old paint coats) and primed with Galvafroid.
I’ll do the wring next then get the tower scaffold up and fit it in a few weeks but we’ve got to clear the rest of the vegetation around and replant and a bit of fencing is involved too.
If it was easy everyone would do it.

And finally it’s up. Thanks to all as I very nearly scrapped it, just shows things can be saved. The lower fixings thread is very unusual and doesn’t match any of the 30-odd current or old threads going back to the 1860’s so I think this may be even earlier than that.

And the lesson is.... Anything that was made, can be remade. weather it is economical to do so however, is a whole discussion in itself.

Nearly done now. One tree hit it, but as a result we’ve cleared the whole bed of trees and shrubs and planted a hedge, just got a bit of fencing to do and put an old horse plough as a feature.
Never stops here the next thing is finish rebuilding a digger and remove 25 lleylandii which won’t be easy they’re 50 yeaes old and never been trimmed!
