Yeah it is and Skotl/Pdg know it is. Having a laugh that's all.Skotl, that's the guy on here own advert is it not?

I see Rich lol....Yeah it is and Skotl/Pdg know it is. Having a laugh that's all.
No doubt about that, In the time I have been on the forum the amount of negative feelings about these untested, non-UK backed piles of junk has been made crystal clear. Like you said Rich where can you get a tig inverter for 180 euros? the alarm bells would be ringing with proper research once you see the proper cost of these things. One bit of vital research that could of prevented this situation was you should of become a member of this forum before buying the unit. You would of quickly been talked out of buying it that's for sure.
Considered locking this post to prevent another 20 page 'brand/country' bashing event that happens on a regular basis, we have all read pages and pages of it I am sure, but I don't want to over moderate so will see how it goes for now, constructive comments still welcomed so fill yer boots
My son had his hotpoint tumbledrier blow up. Turns out it's a known fault so happily requests the replacement parts as there was a 5 year parts guarantee .......sorry you have to have them fitted. WHY WHEN MY MATES DAD IS AN ENGINEER? Sorry sir we will not send you the parts only. It's £190 for an engineer to call.I am a strong believer that we have to take responsibility for ourselves, something that is weakening with the new 'the buyer is always right and protected' belief of many shoppers.
Ebay has opened up a whole new market of products to us and many at prices well below the norm, most of these low priced items come from abroad and many of those are sold from what on the surface may look like a global professional company but in reality is no more than the ease and power of internet web site designs.
I am more than happy to buy from China, Italy, Outer Mongolia or any other seller, what I do first though is ask myself what will happen if the item is or develops a fault and if I have any doubt returning the item will result in high postage or little or no help from the seller then I buy locally or within the UK at least.
This basically means I buy very few items costing more than £10 from the sellers mentioned, I did consider buying a £130 plasma but I had already accepted I would not be sending it back, I would take the gamble and would blame only myself if it ended up a lump of scrap.
I have had some brilliant bargains from China, I have had some rubbish too, what I have never had is any reason to complain, you pay your money and take your chances.
There is no issue with the OP's post or opinions, we welcome accurate reviews of equipment, my reference was to what often follows in these sorts of threads and it often turns into the same old thing, pages and pages of import vs uk etc etc, the arguments get heated and continue forever with no real outcome. It appears to be an honest description of someone's experience of buying one of these sets, having problems and attempting to get satisfaction, so I'd say it's valid.
It's not to say that every MigTig buyer will find the same thing or that their set will fail quickly.
Don't you just know it Steve. Give it another page or two and you know what famously talked about brand will be chucked into the blender. After that it's every solder for himself. There is no issue with the OP's post or opinions, we welcome accurate reviews of equipment, my reference was to what often follows in these sorts of threads and it often turns into the same old thing, pages and pages of import vs uk etc etc, the arguments get heated and continue forever with no real outcome.
Have just had a similar but not identical event myself, the drum on my Daughters Servis dryer collapsed, on inspection the rear 10mm dia shaft had eaten through the bronze support housing and worn away on the chassis until it snapped. My son had his hotpoint tumbledrier blow up. Under EU rules the damn thing should last longer than 19 months. But they won't budge so much for EU rules. No good if they are not enforceable.
Not by me. Lol I am sorry I posted of topic. But when posted I was actually highlighting the dodgy free parts offers that seem too good to be true. It's nice to know when the warranty and offer on parts are honoured in full.Don't you just know it Steve. Give it another page or two and you know what famously talked about brand will be chucked into the blender. After that it's every solder for himself.
OP????I'd like to give a constructive opinion on one tbh, but I haven't bothered looking for details on the internals.
Anyone got a broken one they'd like to donate?
Na. He wants his €200 back for that.OP????
