...and I have had to leave a fair bit in the van. Still, only two or three bikes in the house.

The problem I have is letting it go. But having recognised that, I think I may be on the mend.

Oh and yes, as a former technical consultant, I also have a TON of security!

Haha. Well, I did just buy a Bridgeport! Dunno where that's going to go yet. Not going to hang it off any of my ceilings.

Meantime I am letting go of the "gigantic record 634 vice" as well as all the other bits and bobs. Sorry I can't offer them here but I am testing the water with some rather stiff pricing. If I have to cheapen them up I will post an advert here but at the moment, I may be shooting at the moon...

Not sure that you'd want mine. It has some strange distortion which makes everything look older than it is (with less hair come to think of it). My bloody camera is starting to do that too...

That looks like RGV front and rear ends with a power valve engine and frame, Mito Evolution tank & seat unit.

yup. It's a runner too but never got around to finishing it off. Needs a fair few small parts making up, brackets and stuff so have been furnishing the workshop in preparation.

You didn't spot the RG500 then?

It's a "project bike". It will never actually get finished. I'll probably never sell it either.

But it's that time of year, if it warms up a bit and the sun comes out, anything could happen.

It's a "project bike". It will never actually get finished. I'll probably never sell it either.

Sometimes you just have to be realistic, and a bit brutal and have a clear-out. You wouldn't know yourself with a bit of room to actually get things done.

mr trebus was an old gentleman on a tv show about hoarders, he threw away nothing and collected everything, the council eventually got him into sheltered housing and when they got into his property to clear it the only way through the house was human size rat runs. iirc they eventually pulled the house down.

sadly mr trebus didn't cope well in the new clean environment of his new home and passed away.

I remember seeing that program, lovely old chap. but had it in his head every bit of scrap from rusty washing machines to bent bike wheels were worth keeping, damn shame he did nt have family to help him keep things in check .It is a recognised mental problem.
My take on it is everyone has there quirks, its just when it gets totally out of perspective it causes problems eh. Its part of the "nesting" mentality if you surround your self with stuff you are protected from the out side word, we guys do it, old men with the motor bikes we yearned for in our youth, trying to kid ourselves we are still lads.....which is fine as long as you dont ride like you did when you were 17 eh!! I would like a old bike to do up ,but probably not ride it,just fun.although I do use my old fergy tractors in the field.
Sorry mods getting off the point completely.........But Trebus was a nice guy but terribly let down by society not helping him better.Arther

arther, im currently re-living my youth after picking up a zx6r kawasaki ninja, Mrs M has palpations every time i go out. but it tis good fun.

Nice, put some pics up let us others drool !! one of the more what I would term relatively modern bikes I always liked is the Kawasaki zzr 600, the reason being, sat more upright, comfortable to cruise on, like I said would like to get one sometime to tidy up, just busy this year having a good clear out, like you do, and then start again ,I have no problem selling on ,some bits you lose a few pounds some you gain, I dont have the farmers mentallity that as soon as I get it OR as soon as some one asks about it means its super collectable worth a fortune.Arther

Probably the wrong place to put this, an antique dealer my dad used to trade with came in one day, had been to a local farmer, bought a few bits and was bragging to us the farmer had all this furniture worth lets say proper monies, anyways he bought some small pieces for good monies, to get his foot in the door, told the farmer furniture wasnt any value, but would give him just a few quid to clear it.
Dealer came in a little while later in a right strop, he had gone back to the farm where farmer was stood raking up remains off bonfire, started chatting, yes he had burnt all the old furniture as it was worthless.....
