as a follow on from i aquired a hammer @Parm @The_Yellow_Ardvark

i was not goning to spendy a lot of money for the small pot of daninsh oil for a hammer but the door oil come up on fsacebook for a 5er for a 1 ltr bottle though that will do and ive got plenty for other projects

the door oil is £30 for a ltr dont know whats so special about it

sorry about the pics i left phone at work so had to use the camera on the laptop

No point having the jack and not having the rest of the kit I think. When it comes to lifting I prefer to have the right gear. Have to say quality of hi lift stuff is very good.

Lol, that Osmo stuff seems to have rave reviews. I’ve got a tin but not had a chance to use it yet

seams to say it take 24 hours to dry seams a long time realy its quite thick but think thats down to its possably an older bottle but i rubed it on with a lint free cloth and even after the first coat seam nice and smooth i done a 2nd coat this morning only 12 hours later see what its like when i get home

I just treated myself to a new LG OLED 55" - incredible - streets ahead of these LCD/LED tvs.
LG are the only company making OLED panels - all the other companies buy off them.

Had a look at them but cant afford that sort of money at the moment. (Spent a little too much and with a dog gone poorly doesn't help)

I'm still quite content with my thirty-something-inch 720p LCD that I've had for about 12 years (and won free in a raffle back then). Every time I look at bigger, fancier TVs I think about how little time I spend watching TV and what sort of machine tools I could get for the same money.

got a cheapy 55 inch i cant see any thing wrong with it only moan is the tv guide press button take a couple seconds to show on screen i got used to it

there was a 65 inch on deal the other day 399 think on ebay

I bought my last brand new TV in 1990. Then in 2001 I bought one cheap direct from the Sony factory in Bridgend.
Our first Plasma was free. Our 2nd Plasma was worth 5k but I paid £200 and fixed it.
I never watch TV but decided to treat my brother as I am always spending money on myself.

I went for the Samsung QLED...to my eyes any new screen is going to be better than the one I had before + I reckon your eyes just adjust to whatever you are watching.

Samsung have very good connectivity.....reason I didn't go for OLED is because I read that they can suffer from screen burn....dunno if its true but decided not to take the risk.

OLEDs can suffer screen burn. If they are left on the same news channel with a logo in the same spot 14hrs a day for 2 yrs!
In normal use no chance.
Most high end phones are oled.

Yea but I've learned my lesson with TVs....I was one of the first people to buy a 55 inch Sony LED TV back in the day....it cost a fortune but came with an impressive 5 year warranty. After 7 years it went bang...wasn't worth fixing because prices had dropped so much. Replaced it with a 55 inch Samsung....at the time they were trying to sell me 4K but there wasn't any content so I waited and just bought the cheaper model.

Just switched to 4k...4 years later now theres content. The netflix optimisations for the Samsung are really impressive....and the UHD (or whatever they call it) equally impressive...I may have to watch lost in space all over again!

Found this in the road on the ride into work on the bike. It was right in the middle of the archipelago of pot holes outside the village. I suspect it bounced from a van or lorry. Home made and 1 and 1/2" socket. If you've lost this on the Newent road let me know

12 oak veneered doors to swing so will put it through it's paces

First test and seems ok. Need to take a file to the locating lugs on the trimmer base. Doesn't slide in easily

Plenty of power 6mm straight cutter happily ploughing through oak with a 15mm doc no sign of struggles
It's quieter than it's mains counterpart and stops dead when you hit the switch

Despite the battery weight it's easy to use freehand too.
Haven't tried the plunge base but had a fiddle and works well.
Time to relegate my old Hitachi trimmer to the shed.
The katsu I bought isn't nice to use. It's top heavy and doesn't have enough guts

I will look forward to the full review as i have been looking out for one at the right price but it is my birthday tomorrow so i might be waking up to one if the hints i have dropped have been picked up on.
